I thought Jeff Wysaski's book, "Awkward Merit Badges" was creative and hilarious!! I took it out with me Saturday nite bar hopping. Anytime the nite got awkward, I would whip this book out and show it to my friends or even strangers. They looked through it, shared it with others, had a few laughs, put on a sticker, put a sticker on someone else. It was great! Never have I been able to do this with a book before. Everyone who looked through it found at least one sticker that they really connected with. I personally put on merit badge sticker that said "Texting Accident," where the picture is of a person walking into a pole while texting. This totally happened to me. Several times. Great conversation starter, great design and clever book idea, great stickers. I can't wait to see a Awkward Merit Badges 2!

One of the greatest benefits of the internet in recent years has been the acknowledgement by others of these common social anxiety situations that previously were thought to be solo horrors. Jeff Wysaski's "Awkward Merit Badges" takes this to the next logical step by creating physical badges to be awarded to yourself or your friends whenever a social faux pas is committed.

When I was a cub scout, we'd get badges for stupid things like "pitching a tent", "using a compass", or even "using just your hands to support your entire body weight while in a sitting position" and I only ended up with a few. If Wysaski's "Talking About Person Behind You", "Thought Stranger Was Waving At You", or "Rehearsed Food Order In Head" were legit badges, I'd have been first in my troop.

There's a ton of various badges (2 of each) that also function as stickers you can secretly place on other people to the embarrassment of themselves, but to the joy of others. This is a great initial book by the writer of Pleated-Jeans.com and I look forward to any followups.
It comes as no surprise that this clever little book is full of literal "lol" moments as " Pleated Jeans" is always good for a chuckle or three. I gave myself a few badges and will be carefully awarding them to friends. This would make a great giftie as well, for the "funny person who has everything", on your list. Bravo, Jeff Wysaski, the brain-child of the Pleated-Jeans himself. Love, your mom ( just kiddin').
The inside is like the cover. There are 3 stickers per page. Each page is printed twice so you can have two people with the same sticker. Stickers say things like "errant reply all email" and "third wheel" or "rehearsed food order", plus a ton of others such as "tripped in public" and "pretending to text". Was loved by all! Fits great in the pocket like a long thin business card to carry all camp.
I bought these for my 16 year old nephew. They were well received amongst the normally dour and misunderstood group.
My son is a Boy Scout. He thought these stickers were very funny.
my 4 month old son has earned "noticeable stain on shirt" and "third wheel" my husband has earned "had fly down all day" lmao! hilarious!
